Charles Johnson earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University and spent 20 years working in the Civil and Environmental Engineering fields for the States of New Jersey and Connecticut and various private engineering firms. In 1999, he entered the Teacher Certification Program at Southern Connecticut State University for Mathematics. He spent 6 years teaching high school Math classes at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, 5 years teaching boat building and alternative energy classes at the Bridgeport Regional Aquaculture Science and Technology Education Center, and two years teaching 7th and 8th Grade Math at Waltersville School in Bridgeport.
Mr. Johnson enjoys spending time on Long Island Sound sailing, fishing, and swimming. He lives in Guilford, CT with his wife and two dogs, Rufus and Miles.
Mr. Johnson plans to bring hands-on learning to the Math class, as well as boat building to the BMA after-school program.
